Knightingale Knightingale Series Book 1 edition by Stephanie Laws Paranormal Romance eBooks

I had the privilege of assisting in the editing of this book and enjoyed every minute of it. This book leads you into a battle between good and evil and the destiny of one individual to protect the world. It falls into the paranormal, romance, science fiction category for me and explores the difficulty many of us face each day in our faith and what we truly believe in. There are unexpected twists and turns that continually draw you in and hold your interest. It is what I call a 'fast read' because I simply could not lay the book down. The author introduces an unexplored concept to what we envision the future could entail. One I had never encountered and reminds me quite a bit of Stephen King's 'The Stand' when I first read it. I would find myself stopping to think about a small detail Mr. King had added to the story, something that would never have occurred to me. This book does the same thing in many ways. It makes you think and begin to wonder what really does lie in our future. Stephanie Laws is a new author when it comes to publishing, but has written several books, with four in this series. I encourage any reader interested in science fiction, drama, romance, and the paranormal to read this book. You will find a new author to add to your library and one with the potential to write many more books. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Knightingale Knightingale Series Book 1 edition by Stephanie Laws Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

Very well written! I loved the story line, the thought-provoking situations, the humor (yeah, almost woke my husband up because I was laughing so hard the bed was shaking!), the true-to-life romance...I seriously could go on and on. I'm not an avid reader...never have been. I'm trying to read more, and this author makes it easy! Can't wait for more!!
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this book. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I'm floating around somewhere in the middle. I feel like a lot of it could have been cut out, and that it was only there to add more length to the book. It seemed that everyone like to talk in circles, say they got over the conversation and then go right back to talking in circles again. This happened the most when Samantha and David would get to talking with each other.

The first half of the book was more about Samantha getting over the lost of her family. As someone that has almost the same family set up I couldn't even bring myself to try and put myself in her shoes, it was to sad for me. But I could really understand her reluctance when it came to David, I wouldn't want someone new to show up in my life so soon after something so horrific. But at the same time half of what went on could have been taken out. I felt like I was getting told the same exact thing over and over again.

The second half of the book was more interesting, but I still felt confused as to everything that was going on. But it wasn't because things aren't explained, its just that no one got the answers I wanted either. There is still a lot of talking, I think that is one thing that bothered me about this book. Everyone talked all the time, like full on speeches sometimes, that I felt like everything was being told to me. I would have rathered had more inner dialogue and maybe point of view shifts instead of speeches. This way I could start to figure things out for myself, and then see if I got it right or not later in the book instead of being told all the time.

But all of that aside, I did enjoy the read. A new idea that I have never come across is always exciting for me. I was eager to know what was going to happen, and to see all the new things that popped up. The last half of the book was like this, new things kept happening, and even though I felt like I was left in the dark with a lot of things I still want to know what is going to happen.

One thing I would like to have cleared up for me is Samantha's age. I never really got a clear answer, I know she perceived herself older then David. At one point I thought she was 25, but if that is the case she would have literally had to have gotten married straight out of high school and popped her son out right away, and this just didn't seem to fit in with her personality.

Would I recommend this book? Yes, it was pretty interesting.

**Disclaimer I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.**
Mixing the real world with things of the imagination and filling in reality with questions about another aspect of the universe is a little disconcerting.
3 1/2 stars is for a book that I could not get into until chapter 16. Up until that point it is mostly about the heroine whining about her looks, her guardian, David, her family that were lost in a fire, about causing everyone problems, about being a danger to everyone she knows. etc, etc and more etc. I felt like the author was told to write so many pages and used Samantha to fill in the needed chapters.

I can only pretend to understand losing your husband and 2 small children 6 months before in a terrible fire, causing such a depresion and making her want to end her own life. But this cause was not the main reason for her petty behavior, it was just one of many problems she felt she had.

I could not stand to hear her whining and telling David she was not good enough for him or that she was afraid she would cause his death.
So, I just scanned ahead in the book until finally something started to happen (Go to Chapter 16 !!!
