Who would enjoy this book?
Anyone wishing to be inspired by the story of Jesus and the power of the Rosary! I wrote it particularly with young adults in mind, however, since the story revolves around a heartwarming relationship between a teenager, Jenna, and her elderly neighbor, Agnes, it speaks to people of all ages. This book is for you if
- you feel disheartened because your family or friends have left the faith
- sometimes it seems that the Gospel and/or the Rosary are not relevant to the real problems of everyday life
- you wish to take a fresh look at the Christian faith
- you would like to develop or rekindle a love for the Rosary
- you pray the Rosary but could use some inspiration to continue
- you want to be inspired by a touching relationship between a teenager and her elderly neighbor
- you just want to read a good book that weaves together the story of Jesus and contemporary spiritual questions
Why did you write this book?
I wrote it for three main reasons. First, to encourage those who might feel far from God to take another look at the Christian faith. Second, to inspire those who pray the Rosary and know its power, but could use some inspiration to persevere or to pick it back up. And third, I wanted to find a creative way to help remind people of how close God really is. God can feel so distant but in reality, He couldn’t be closer!

Agnes’ Gift takes a fresh look at the Christian faith through the eyes of a struggling, agnostic teenager. It teaches about God’s amazing love and mercy through a compelling story. Jenna’s journey with her guardian angel through the mysteries of the Rosary might be extraordinary, but having a life-changing encounter with Christ is something many Christians can relate to.

I applaud the author's desire to spread her obvious love of the Lord and the Rosary to others. The cover is beautiful, and I enjoy Christmas stories and Christian/Catholic teen novels, so I purchased the Kindle version of this book. While the author writes well, this is less a story and more a spiritual/theological/instructional book that teaches a deep appreciation for the Rosary. There is very little of a "teen novel" here. There is no teen voice and the story is primarily contained in the first and last chapters. I think the book would have benefited from a children's/YA editor who could have developed a storyline and characters that would attract a teen reader. If you are a catechist hoping to teach the Rosary to your teen students, this book may be a vehicle for you.Product details

Not only is this an inspiring story to read, but once you start it is hard to put down. I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for an up lifting book to read and if you don't understand why Catholics pray the Rosary, this book gives a great explanation through a beautifully written story! Enjoy!!!!

This is a lovely, well-written story, both inspiring and compelling. I loved the entertaining, unique way the author draws the reader into a timeless exploration of the mysteries of the Rosary. It is a fast-paced and engaging read I would recommend to readers of all ages. This would be perfect for a Lenten read or a book group discussion, a truly contemplative and thought-provoking take on the mysteries. Highly recommended!
A beautiful story with many brilliant insights of faith, and these insights are the best reason for reading this book. There's a lot to bolster even a strong faith here! I would recommend it just based on those insights. I did notice a couple of instances where the wrong word was used in the text (example-- the word "discrete" was used where the author clearly meant "discreet"), and that was a little annoying; an editor should have easily found that. Also, several times I found myself wishing the author had presented her own description of the different Biblical events and scenes, rather than just paraphrasing the Bible verses, or almost copying them outright. The author is clearly capable of good descriptions and good writing, and these instances felt a little like she just wanted to move quickly on to the next scene. But overall, a very nice and sweet book with insights that are really gems. Read it.
Really helps you understand the rosary by helping you meditate the gospels in each mystery in a very thorough and detailed way. I also love that throughout the book, you personally begin to feel transported into each scene and it really helps you appreciate more the beautiful prayer of the rosary and you begin to feel how the Lord is strengthening your faith through this book!
For this non-Catholic, it provided a different insight into the mysteries of the prayers of the Rosary. The only disappointment is I began the book thinking this was going to be a novel rather than an instructional book.
